Action Bronson

Nobody does color on shoes quite like Action Bronson. Debuting his first collaboration with New Balance last year, the rapper is jumping from the 990v6 to the 1906R and bringing his signature flair with him to the silhouette. A women’s aerobics-inspired “Rosewater” is joined by an orange and yellow “Scorpius” and blue “Medusa Azul” to round out the colorful lineup. If you’re looking to make a statement with your shoes this year, leave it to Action Bronson and New Balance to serve you up something special.

Nike Air 180 “Ultramarine”

Nike

Combining the great minds of Tinker Hatfield and Bruce Kilgore, Nike created the Air 180 in 1991 as the brand’s latest development in running. While it failed to capture consumers’ attention at the time, its special editions for Ye and Eminem in the ‘00s played a key role in amplifying the silhouette. COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus went on to revitalize the design in 2018 and now a proper return for the pair that started it all is taking place in 2024.

Bode x Nike Astro Grabber

Goat

Emily Adams Bode Aujla’s eponymous label Bode has ushered in a whimsical approach to both menswear and womenswear since debuting in 2016. As it continues to serve up one-of-a-kind creations, it’s rumored to be teaming up with Nike to bring back an archival silhouette — the Astro Grabber. The shoe’s distinctly-’70s aesthetic is sure to align snugly with Bode’s sentimental design language as a key release for fans of the two brands to look out for.

Nike Book 1

Nike

While Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns are having their shine blocked by clouds so far this season, the young star’s first signature shoe with the Swoosh is basking in the limelight. Following the 500 numbered pairs released during Art Basel in Miami, thousands of dollars are being thrown around for the shoe as hoopers and sneakerheads eagerly await its proper debut. With its DNA drawing from hit silhouettes like the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1, the Book 1 is a rare example of a shoe geared for wear on and off the court, resulting in it being poised to be a bestseller from Nike Basketball this year.

Supreme x Nike Clogposite

Nike

As mules and clogs continue to run wild, Nike is looking to capitalize on the slip-on craze with the return of the Air Flightposite-inspired Clogposite, tapping none other than New York’s streetwear empire — Supreme. It is once again in charge of reviving an archival Nike silhouette as the Clogposite — a design better suited to today’s market than when it was originally introduced in the early ‘00s and met with low demand — gears up for both a collaborative launch and several in-line colorways that are sure to serve as a fashion-forward footwear option for the warmer weather to come.

POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) x On Cloudmonster

POST ARCHIVE FACTION’s (PAF) cutting-edge approach to sportswear has led to a meteoric rise in the fashion industry since being founded in 2018. At Paris Fashion Week last June, the South Korean label revealed it was teaming up with another burgeoning brand — On. As the Swiss running brand continues to find its footing in the fashion space, PAF has blended its ultramodern design language with On’s penchant for performance to create a collection that brings the best out of both of them.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy”

Twelve years ago, sneakerheads swarmed the streets, camping out for upwards of a week just to get their hands on the Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy.” A relic of simpler times, the legendary pair is finally returning to shelves in 2024. Whether you missed out over a decade ago or have entered the sneaker game in the time since, this is sure to be an exciting moment for many as the silhouette continues to make a resurgence in the scene.

The Louis Vuitton Footprint boot is undoubtedly a product of today’s viral-oriented footwear scene. It leans on an exaggerated build to host its signature monogram boldly across its fuzzy shearling upper. Underneath, the paw print-shaped outsole tread further emphasizes its absurdity as you can count on celebrities and influencers to be flooding social media with pairs.

NIGO x Nike Air Force 3 Low

As Japanese streetwear legend NIGO built his first empire with BAPE in the ‘90s and ‘00s, one of the brand’s staples was the BAPE STA — a shoe that drew inspiration from the Nike Air Force 1 Low. Despite this, it was reported that NIGO has signed with Nike and is said to be working on their first sneaker together, a great full circle moment for the industry. In November of last year, the designer was spotted wearing an unreleased pair of Air Force 3 Lows that may serve as his first collaboration with the brand.

HIDDEN.NY x ASICS GEL-NYC

Hidden.ny

HIDDEN.NY has successfully undergone the transformation from a mere mood board to a fully-fledged brand, teaming up with the likes of Goldwin and Salomon in the process. As it continues its ascent in streetwear, its latest footwear project is a white, silver and green take on the GEL-NYC. Notably, it features digital-themed detailing with a pixelated version of ASICS’ Tiger Stripes and a version of the HIDDEN.NY logo that looks to be inspired by photo editing software as it includes sizing handles around its shape.

Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM

24 Sneaker Releases to Look Forward to in 2024 (11)

Cecilie Bahnsen

Cecilie Bahnsen has received well-earned recognition after her first project with ASICS hit the runway for Spring/Summer 2023. Repurposing and reimagining ASICS silhouettes with her signature elegance, it’s no surprise that the duo has plenty more pairs to come. Pivoting to the GEL-QUANTUM for Spring/Summer 2024, Bahnsen has presented the sneaker in an all-black finish that is covered in flower-shaped embellishments.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “Black Toe Reimagined”

Since word of the Air Jordan 1 High “Black Toe” returning initially spread in 2022, sneakerheads have been anxiously awaiting its reveal. After a long period without updates, a rumor spread at the end of last month revealing that the “Black Toe Reimagined” will be arriving this holiday season. No images of the pair have surfaced just yet so we’ll have to wait and see what approach the Jumpman team utilizes this time around.

Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Olive”

Travis Scott and the Air Jordan 1 Low are a duo like no other in the footwear space, dropping one hit collaboration after another since 2019. While it was rumored that his “Medium Olive” pair from April of last year was the last collaboration between La Flame and the low-top sneaker, “Black Olive” and “Canary” looks are now expected to brew up chaos this year when they eventually drop. The former sticks to Scott’s favoring of earth-tone color palettes while the latter mixes things up with white, yellow and blue offering ample contrast.

J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Rio”

J Balvin, “The Prince of Reggaeton,” has been slowly working through the Air Jordan series, starting with the AJ1 and following it with his own version of the AJ2 and the AJ3. After launching his “Medellín Sunset” colorway last year, he’s gearing up to pay tribute to his son Rio with a colorway named after him. Flipping the off-white upper into a pitch black, the gradient detailing stands out even more with this pair.

Air Jordan 4 “Industrial Blue”

The Air Jordan 4 is sure to have a statement year in 2024 as it celebrates its 35th anniversary. While another pair from A Ma Maniére is on the way alongside a “Bred Reimagined” look, the “Military Blue” finish is also returning for the third time. While it now officially carries the “Industrial Blue” name, it is the most true homage to the original pair from 1989 as it is the first reissue of the sneaker to utilize Nike Air branding at the heel.

Travis Scott x Jordan Jumpman Jack

Travis Scott has been one of the most dominant figures in footwear across recent years, taking the top spot in SNKRS entry data from 2022 and 2023. Heading into 2024, it’s time for La Flame to introduce his first signature shoe to the world — the Jordan Jumpman Jack. Combining signature motifs from the artist such as his reverse Swooshes with trendy color compositions and a street-ready build, fans will surely be doing everything they can to secure a pair in 2024.

Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Juniper

Salehe Bembury

We’re only entering the fourth year of Salehe Bembury’s partnership with Crocs and the designer has already made a significant impact on the brand — becoming the creative director of the newly-formed Pollex Pod division last year. Rounding out 2023, Bembury took to Instagram to reveal his most ambitious project with the brand yet, a sneaker. Its initial preview highlighted the sole, which again utilizes his all-too-familiar fingerprint design that wraps around his Pollex Clog. Fast forward to this year and the Crocs Pollex Juniper has been revealed with a perforated toe box and heel emphasizing breathability, a textured upper and layered collar.

Nike KD 4 “Nerf”

Nike

It’s been 13 years since Kevin Durant and Nike Basketball debuted the KD 4 as the latest signature shoe from the slick superstar. While he continues to churn out new sneakers each season, the KD 4 is entering its renaissance period with OG colorways such as the “Galaxy,” “Weatherman” and “Nerf” all returning in 2024. Of the trio, the “Nerf” stands out as a rumored release that is drenched in nostalgia. It hasn’t surfaced just yet, but expect its playful graphics and wild color composition to make a return in the fall.

Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach”

Another blast from the past landing in the 2024 lineup of sneaker releases is the late Kobe Bryant’s Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach.” Paying homage to the eclectic California neighborhood, the retro look sports a vibrant combination of gray, blue, yellow and orange coloring throughout its court-ready build. If you’re looking for something new, the “Radiant Emerald,” “Court Purple” and “Mambacita” colorways are all scheduled to arrive throughout this year as well.

If you haven’t reviewed Issey Miyake’s Spring/Summer 2024 show, not only are you missing out on a fantastic tribute to Miyake’s Spring/Summer 1998 collection, but you also haven’t previewed the surprise collaboration between the brand and New Balance on the trail-ready MT10. With their first project together, the duo has equipped the MT10 with several monochromatic makeovers that blend the grace of Issey Miyake with the technical specifications of the MT10 for an exciting debut.

The adidas Samba is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and the Three Stripes is looking to keep the red-hot model in the limelight. Backing this, a long-rumored collaboration with JJJJound on the retro soccer sneaker is sure to serve as one of many projects involving the Samba. Combining one of the trendiest sneakers with one of the most successful collaborators in streetwear is a recipe for success, making this entry a shoo-in.

Futura x Nike SB Dunk Low

Futura has offered the sneaker world a plethora of sought-after collaborations since the early ‘00s. As a frequent partner of Nike, he has opted to revisit the SB Dunk Low for 2024 — 21 years after his first take on the silhouette. He again leverages several blue hues with a galaxy-esque finish across its overlays while multiple callouts to the artist come courtesy of his signature at the heel and tongue tag in the brief preview of the sneaker that popped up last fall.

Balenciaga Sock Sneaker

Balenciaga

One part sneaker, two parts sock, the Balenciaga Sock Sneaker is the latest exploration of reducing footwear to the bare essentials. As the battle of the Gvasalia brothers carries on with Guram at VETEMENTS and Demna at Balenciaga, the former was quick to express his displeasure with the reveal of the latter’s work, sharing “Accept no imitations #NothingBeatsTheOriginal,” via Instagram post after Ye released his YZY Pods and Balenciaga revealed its Sock Sneaker. Whether you’re taking a stand for either Gvasalia brother or just enjoying the spectacle from the sidelines, the Sock Sneaker Saga will remain an enjoyable story to watch unfold.

MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon XT-4 Mule

24 Sneaker Releases to Look Forward to in 2024 (24)

Mm6 Maison Margiela

MM6 Maison Margiela has been responsible for reworking several of Salomon’s silhouettes into fashion-forward finishes. However, its next project with the brand does so in a way that contradicts the DNA of the French performance brand. Chopping down the XT-4 into a mule, MM6 Maison Margiela juxtaposes the utilitarian construction of the shoe with the casual approach of mule sneakers. The resulting works are both intriguing in presentation and mind-boggling in execution — making it a perfect fit for more expressive sneaker lovers.
